A present for a friends daughter.

Looks like you're struggling I'm afraid - everywhere seems sold out and even ebay doesn't have one. Hopefully someone else will come up with an answer to bring more Christmas Cheer - sorry I can't.

I have a 49cc motor scooter and I am having a problem with the electric start. I turn the ignition on, hold to back brake and press the electric start and all I get is a ticking sound. It will not start using the electric start, only the kick start. I’m thinking it could be either the battery, electric start assembly or the starter relay. How can I test to find out what is wrong?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I study abit of motorcycle so let me answer abit.

Does it has the cranking sound when you try the start the vehicle? If yes, it would be a weak battery. If there’s totally no cranking sound, other components may be at fault.

Since you say you hear ticking sound, could it be the “spark plug”? It’s best to have another motorcycle to change the parts around to rectify the problem. Try changing the spark plug from another vehicle.

What kind of electric scooter should I buy?

Looking for an electric scooter to REPLACE my commuter gas-powered vehicle. I travel approximately 40 miles a day to work, any suggestions?

Wow 40 miles is a tall order. My moped (R Martin EVD) has about a 30 mile range - I can get it higher if I go slower, but to travel 40 miles I'd have to keep the speed below 40 mph and it would take well over an hour and a half.

You'd even have to go easy on the Vectrix to get the range to 40 miles, but you could probably make the trip in 1 to 1.5 hours.

See the link below for a summary of electric vehicles (including mopeds and motorcycles).

Electric scooter test drive at San Francisco

We took a good fifteen minutes of video today riding the E-Ranger Scooter from the GG Park/Fulton/Baker area up Masonic to Pacific Heights. Our route then proceeded back up and down Golden Gate St., then back to Divisadero, down to Fell and over to where we started at the park. Overall, we rode up and down many hills of varying inclines, from a 15% to 35% grade with absolutely no problems. I would say the durability and flexibility of the vehicle is equal to any test not involving a hill above 40%. One thing we noticed throughout our ride is that over most of San Francisco, simply by diverting a block or two from a steep 40%+ hill, you’ll find a less steep one in the next block or two to traverse. The amount of electric charge used was negligible.

where could i put my electric scooter?

using a bike lock lock it to a bike rack.

my IZIP I-400 electric scooter reveiw

well, i decided to make a review on my izip i-400, the main purpose is for people who are looking into buying a scooter and are considering the i-400. you can get this scooter for less than $250 at a sports store. it’ll go 15-19 mph, for 5-8 miles. it’s a great scooter for riders less than 140 pounds i’d say. and it has a decent top speed, and is faster than the GT 500 which is 100 more watts than the i-400

please, if you have questions don’t hesitate to ask. i’ll answer them to the best of my ability.

What will it do to the scooter also

I have an answer for you. However, I don't know how old you are but in the old cars, if you used an higher voltage battery, man the head lights would be very bright and the car would race while parked.

The fact of the matter is, I work on these Scooters and I work on Motorcycles. If you use a motorcycle battery of considerable higher voltage, you would most definitely burn out your wiring harness.

There are reasons that a Scooter uses a lower battery voltage. So, I would suggest that you use a battery more suitable for your Scooter. A battery replacement is a lot less in cost then replacing an entire wiring harness (LABOR).

Short term use for a day or two is acceptable. Anything beyond that, and you are putting your two wheeled devil in harms way.

Happy Riding and
Good Luck

How do i fix my electric scooter?

My E500 razor scooter stopped working, When I unplug the 24 volt thing under the seat and then plug it back in it just keeps going then when I pull the brake it stops, then when i twist the twist it dosn't go.

haha i have one too…what i did is take it back because its not supose to do that…..so just get a new one

What is overall the best electric scooter under $300?

I have been wanting an electric scooter for a while and now i can get one. i live in New Jersey where it is very hilly so it would have to be able to get up them. also at least 30 minute run time.
Nvm a gas powered one. i just type it in Google and i find some for under $300 but will they get me were im going?

You are not going to get an electric scooter for $300.

The base of the seat is flat, and the scooter deck is also flat. I want to be able to remove the seat. Would powerful velcro be a good idea? Or something else?

Since this seat is not part of a car, as in to hold you in, complete coverage or 1" wide stripes of velcro should work. Just clean both surfaces good with lighter fluid-paint thinner-lacquer thinner-wax and grease remover-alcohol, something to ensure good bite for the glue. Lowes/Home Depot/Sams Club should carry the rolls of black velcro, should be white box with yellow stripe or writing on it, that should work fine.

If the seat uses a metal piece or something, like a bike seat. You could drill out any bolts and use slip pins like you see on the hoods of race cars. That way, just pull a few pins and the seat is off

I just bought one. I know I need a Drivers, License, helmet. Can I ask where I buy insurance? I have headlight, turn signals, horn. Do they allow them on bike paths? I would be too afraid to drive one on the highway. I know there is help on the internet, but I check on South Carolina and could find no information on the one I checked. Anyone have another link to electric scooters in South carolina. Also, how can I find out how long one holds a charge? I do not want to drive this one to the bank and on the way home it stops, so could someone tell me how long the charge lasts, say three to four hours. Any information on them would be helpfull. Thank You
I would like to get some answers, before my son visits on labor day, and says, "Mom what are you going to do with that".

Here is a list of phone numbers for different advisors, depending on where exactly you live. Hope this helps.

whats the minimum age to drive those ' electric scooters' the ones that look like a mini version of a moped?

Legally is 16.

I don't know what is wrong with my electric scooter. It makes a rattling noise when i ride it, it smells bad, and it goes REALLY slow now! If you might know what is wrong, please tell me!

I believe the electric motor is starting to short out, although it could just need a new battery.
