i have a electric scooter and was wondering if i spray painted it would the paint last? 10 points for best?

   If you paint it properly it should if the parts are plastic use krylon, if the parts are metal you need to strip and sand the old pain, apply a primer and paint in coats.

   Be sure that you have removed all oil from the frame, then use a primer, and then the color coat. You can use model car paint and get some nice looking colors out of it. Use a silver or gold base and then spray it a candy color.

   another option would be to get it powder coated. That would be more durable and give a real smooth surface.

   That really depends on the amount of prep work you put into it, and the quality of the paint you use. If you sand all the surfaces to be painted and clean them perfectly, and buy a quart of good paint, mix it with thinner properly, and get a good spray gun to apply it with, it will last a very very long time. If you just wash it, dry it, and use a can of spray paint, it will last a a few months if your lucky, and will look like crap, even if you dont get runs everywhere.

   Spray paint takes weeks to months to harden completely and up until that time the paint is very easy to damage. The finish that is on the bike will be harder than any spray paint you may use. Also, when dried most spray paint has uneven gloss. If you get a quart of Rustoleum in a bucket and mix it with mineral spirits this will thin the paint so that it will cure completely over night, you could also put it on with a roller and get even gloss.

   It sure will!…if you do it right!Get the paint appropriate for the surface. eg. wood, metal, aluminum. If you're not sure ask at the paint store.
   The surface has to be cleaned first, then lightly sanded with wet sand paper.
   Mask off area's NOT to be painted.
   Spray a coat of primer first, let dry.
   Spray on 1st coat of finish color, careful not to over-spray and cause a drip.LET DRY.
   Apply 2nd coat, let dry thoroughly.3rd coat if necessary.
   Finish with a couple of clear coats for sheen and protection of color. Matte(flat) or gloss.
   You may want to remove tape after each coat to prevent the tape peeling the paint with it when dry.
